Masala Ingredients
- 2 cardamons
- 2 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 8 cashew nuts
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 teaspoons coriander seeds
- 1/4 cup water
Preparation Ingredients
- 1/2 kg boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
- 2 onions, cut into big pieces
- 1 green bell pepper/capsicum
- 1 tomato, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon crushed ginger and garlic
- 3 stalks coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon salt, or as needed
- 3 teaspoons red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 green chilli, slit open
Kadai Chicken Recipe Instructions
- Grind all the items from Ingredients-1 into a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai (using an iron one gives better taste). Add onions, green chilli, and crushed ginger and garlic. Cook until they turn golden brown.
- Add the chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft.
- Add the chicken, turmeric powder, red chili powder, the masala paste, and salt. Cook everything until the masala coats the chicken and the oil separates.
- Add the chopped green bell pepper and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with chapati or rice.
